Beyonce Knowles marriage to Jay-Z is a 'power struggle'. Beyonce Knowles says being married to Jay-Z is a "power struggle".
The 27-year-old singer - who wed the music mogul in April - admits the relationship can sometimes be tiring, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
She said: "My marriage is a power struggle. But if I didn't respect someone, and they didn't have that strength, then I would be bored. I wouldn't be attracted to them."
Beyonce also revealed her mother Tina was banned from the set when she filmed upcoming movie 'Cadillac Records', because she wasn't used to seeing her daughter curse.
Beyonce, who plays blues singer Etta James in the film, added to America's Elle magazine: "My mom had to leave the set. I don't normally curse. Maybe twice a year. I have to be really livid. Somebody saying things or scheduling something where I'm not in control.
"Cursing was freeing, but the shoot was also the most emotionally draining time of my life. Every day I would come home - my eyes would be completely swollen."

Lil Wayne and rock band Coldplay lead nominations. RAPPER Lil Wayne and rock band Coldplay lead 2009's Grammy contenders with 15 nominations between them.
Lil Wayne, whose album Tha Carter III was the biggest selling album in the US this year, won eight nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Solo Performance.
Coldplay landed seven nominations including Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Group.
Many other British acts have been recognised and dominate the Record of the Year category with Adele, Leona Lewis, M.I.A, Coldplay and Robert Plant all contenders.
Led Zeppelin frontman Plant has recieved critical acclaim for Raising Sand, his album with US star Alison Krauss. The pair are nominated together for their track Please Read The Letter, which is also up for Record of the Year.
Radiohead have five nominations including Album of the Year and Adele and Duffy will compete for Best New Artist.
Welsh star Duffy has two other nominations, including Pop Vocal Album for Rockferry, and Pop Vocal Performance for Mercy.
Adele is also up for Song of the Year and Female Pop Vocal performance for Chasing Pavements.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 8 February.

Noel Gallagher goes solo. After years of speculation, Oasis songwriter leader Noel Gallagher says he does plan to record a solo album.
He told BBC Radio 1 that he wants to do a "separate" release from Oasis when the band's current mammoth tour is over towards the end of 2009. And Noel wants brother Liam to do the same.
"At the end of this tour, I'd like everybody to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans. I also think because we've ended up with this album at a place where we were working to for the last five years. It's kind of like: What do we do next?'

Gwen Stefani pregnant again. The singer – who has two sons with husband Gavin Rossdale, Kingston, two, and three-month-old Zuma Nesta Rock – is said to be desperate to increase her brood.
Singer Akon, who worked with Gwen on her 2006 album 'The Sweet Escape’, fuelled rumours by saying: 'I wouldn't be surprised if she had another in the next couple of months. You saw how quickly she went back for another one.'
The 'Right Now (Na Na Na)’ singer refused to confirm Gwen is already expecting, but added she is enjoying her role as a parent.
He said: 'I know nothing! She definitely loves being a mother, period.' It was recently revealed Kingston is a huge 'flirt' who is massively popular with the girls at the exercise class he attends at West Hollywood's Fit for Kids.
A source said: 'All the little girls in Kingston's class are enamoured of him. He is a total flirt! They are constantly surrounding him, especially at story time.
He is very popular.

Robbie Williams is planning to splash out £2.5 million on an alien observatory. The 34-year-old pop singer has been spending all his free time visiting Arizona's National Optical Astronomy Observatory, in Tucson, and he now plans to build his own viewing station so he can monitor the skies for UFOs whenever he wants. A source said: "He is leading a bizarre existence at the moment, vanishing into the desert to look at stars in far-flung galaxies. He is dead set on buying himself an observatory in the desert, which can cost up to £2.5 million. He is hooked on all things from outer space." Robbie - whose 2006 'Close Encounters World Tour' was alien-themed - recently revealed he was planning to make his obsession a full-time profession. He said: "Seriously, I want to go out and investigate these things. I'm stopping being a pop star and becoming a full-time ufologist." The 'Angels' star claims he has been visited by spaceships on three occasions. Describing one encounter of the third kind, he said: "I was lying on my sun lounger outside at night. Above me was a square thing that passed over my head slightly and shot off."
